Benefits

Paid Time Off: Bank employees are given a paid time off (PTO) plan to cover time out of the office for vacation, personal and sick time. Employees begin accruing time off on their hire date. PTO is accrued throughout the year based on employee tenure and status. Unused PTO can be rolled over from year to year.

Paid Holidays: Bank employees are given up to 10 paid days off in observance of certain State and Federal holidays.

Bereavement Leave: State Bank of Southern Utah recognizes the need for time away from work in instances of personal loss. Paid bereavement leave is offered per event in consideration of the possibility of multiple losses in a year.

Jury Duty: Employees are encouraged to fulfill their civic responsibilities by serving jury duty when ordered. SBSU will provide up to 10 paid days off with proof of service.

Medical, Dental and Vision

Medical Benefits: Full-time employees can choose between two high deductible health plan options. These plans cover a network of hospitals, healthcare providers and urgent care facilities. Benefits include preventative care, pharmaceuticals, chiropractic therapy and surgery.

Dental Benefits: Full-time employees are offered dental benefits. The plan includes preventative, basic and major procedures as well as orthodontia.

Vision Benefits: Full-time employees are offered vision benefits. The plan includes exams, lens options, frames and discounts on certain surgeries.

HSA and FSA: A Health Savings Account (HSA) is a tax-favored account for those covered by a high-deductible health plan. These accounts are often triple tax-free in that contributions, earnings and medical expenditures are tax-free. Flex Spending Accounts (FSA) can assist with dependent day care expenses as well as qualified medical, dental and vision expenses. State Bank of Southern Utah makes contributions to the employee HSA.

Online Doctor: Telemedicine is a convenient alternative to receive medical care that saves you time and money. Gain access to a U.S. Board-certified doctor over the phone anytime, anywhere. Whether it’s during a vacation, holiday, business trip or the middle of the night. The cost of using an online doctor is covered 100% by SBSU.

Basic Life and Accidental Death & Dismemberment (AD&D)

Life Insurance: Full-time employees receive a fully bank-paid term life policy with a $50,000 death benefit. Employees may elect to secure additional life insurance at group rates if desired.

AD&D Plan: Full-time employees are provided a benefit in the event of death or dismemberment resulting from certain accidents.

401(k) and Profit Sharing

401(k): Full-time and part-time employees are offered a 401(k) plan fully administered through Fidelity. State Bank of Southern Utah contributes a match based on bank performance at the end of the year.

Profit Sharing: Knowing that their employees have always been our strength, State Bank of Southern Utah implements a profit sharing program to reward its employees for superior performance. In order to share any profits with employees, it is a requirement that the bank meets certain goals.

Learning and Development

When our employees succeed, SBSU realizes success. We do everything we can to help employees increase their value through training and development programs, mentoring, job aids and support tools. SBSU has internal training that covers diverse topics including regulations, job function, best practices, employee handbook and more. Bank employees have access to external training on a variety of topics in the form of relevant webinars, seminars, and conferences.
